Pocket Professor: Math privacy policy

Version 0.1.0. Last updated 2026-10-20.

Pocket Professor: Math is a math study app and calculator. It is built to work without an account and without collecting personal information.

What stays on your device

Your settings, saved problems, history, practice progress and a short log of app errors are stored only on your device (browser or app storage). They are never sent anywhere automatically. Deleting the app or clearing its data removes them.

What is sent, and only when you choose

• Feedback and problem-set results. When you press Send or Email it in the Feedback sheet, or Send to my instructor after a problem set, the text you see in the preview (your message, the screen you were on, what you typed, the answer shown, device type and screen size, recent error messages, and the name you type for a problem set) is sent to the address set up by the person who shared the app with you (for example your instructor's Google Sheet or email). Nothing is sent unless you press the button.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions are handled by Apple's App Store or Google Play. Pocket Professor receives only whether a subscription is active; it never sees your payment details. The free week is counted on your device.

Graded assignments

If your instructor uses Pocket Professor assignments in Canvas or another learning system, your course sends Pocket Professor your name, email and role so your work can be graded, and Pocket Professor sends your score back to the course gradebook. Those records are kept only to grade and report your work.

What is not collected

No accounts, no advertising, no tracking or analytics, no location, contacts, photos or microphone access, and no data sold or shared with third parties.

Children

The app is suitable for students. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
